Scott Malcolm

Scott founded Greenstone Partners in 2003. He has over 20 years experience in the investment banking industry in Australia and the USA. Prior to founding Greenstone Partners, Scott was a Director of Credit Suisse's investment banking department in Sydney and had investment banking account coverage and transaction execution responsibilities for a range of Australasian industrial companies. At Credit Suisse, Scott worked on a broad range of mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt transactions with a total value of approximately $20 billion including:
  • BHP Billiton's $4.8 billion Steel Division divestment program which included the sale of four downstream steel businesses and the OneSteel and BHP Steel (now BlueScope Steel) demergers;
  • CSR's $6.8 billion demerger of Rinker Group;
  • Goodman Fielder's $500 million Ingredients Division divestment program and a US$200 million debt private placement;
  • Carter Holt Harvey's acquisition of CSR Wood Panels and Brown & Dureau; and
  • Burns Philp's $1.1 billion recapitalisation and sale of its Terminals Division.

Scott was previously an Associate in Chase Manhattan Bank's Aerospace Group in New York from 1990 to 1994.

Scott has a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration (Honours) degree from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He has a MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business, Rochester, New York.

Scott is married and has two daughters. He enjoys running, horse racing and is a keen supporter of the All Blacks. Scott is a Trustee of The Catwalk Spinal Cord Injury Trust in New Zealand.
